FRICTION DRIVE TYPE
FRICTION CONVEYOR
NKC’s Transportation Equipment Division was the first in the domestic industry to put friction-driven conveyors into practical use.
By driving the line without using a chain, the oil contained in the chain and the resulting dust are theoretically eliminated from being caught in the conveyor. In addition, by using it in combination with a suspended conveyor, it is possible to form an optimal manufacturing line for automobile painting lines. This is the de facto standard driving technology in the industry, developed by NKC.
Feature 01
OLD & ROBUST CONVEYOR
Chain-driven conveyors are the most primitive type of drive system, but their simple structure gives them excellent heat resistance.
Taking advantage of these characteristics, NKC’s Transportation Equipment Division has a track record of adopting them for baking processes in painting lines, i.e. oven conveyors. They are highly durable in high-temperature environments and have excellent reliability, maintaining their performance even when cooled and heated repeatedly, and have a long track record of adoption and operation in automobile manufacturing lines both in Japan and overseas.
Feature 02
IMRPOVED WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The work environment has been greatly improved by completely eliminating the need to use chains. The generation of grease and metal powder has been minimized, making the workplace much cleaner than before. In addition, the noise level when the trolley passes has been reduced to 65dB, and the background noise to 60dB, solving the noise problem. This protects the health and comfort of workers and provides a quieter, more comfortable work environment. A clean, quiet environment also leads to improved work efficiency and safety.
Feature 03
HIGH PERFORMANCE AND LOW COST
By eliminating the power rail of the high-speed storage conveyor, the labor costs have been reduced. This has enabled a reduction in manufacturing and installation costs, and we have been able to deliver the product at a significantly lower cost than the total cost of a conventional inverted conveyor system. In addition, the output of each friction drive is 100W. Energy savings are achieved because the necessary drives rotate only when necessary. Both equipment costs and running costs have been reduced.
Feature 04
SIMPLE DESIGN SHORT DELIVERY TIME
Since no chains are used, there is no need for power rails, and the weight of the equipment has been reduced by about half. A compact, small-capacity drive motor has also been adopted, making the conveyor itself more compact. Furthermore, ancillary equipment such as stoppers is no longer necessary, simplifying the entire system. This makes it easy and quick to transport to the factory and install on-site, significantly shortening the installation period. It also contributes to cost reduction.
